These course creations aim to protect pike populations and in particular the Aquitaine pike present on these routes while allowing fishing activity to continue. They complement the various actions carried out in the department for the development of the pike species (restoration of spawning grounds and annual monitoring).

These courses are alternatives to the classification in reserve which allow the protection but without the practice. There we have both!
- the current of Mimizan – AAPPMA de Mimizan – from the Aureilhan pond dam to the salt water limit (beginning of the maritime domain) – 5 km linear
- the current of Contis – AAPPMA d’Onesse – from the Dardas bridge (D652 – Mézos stream) to the Mathio footbridge (access from D41 – Contis current) – 8 km linear

On these specific routes, the brown trout caught must be released immediately regardless of size .
These routes aim to protect populations of brown trout present in these areas while allowing the fishing activity to continue. Rainbow trout are not affected by this mandatory release.

These courses are alternatives to the classification in reserve which allow the protection but without the practice. There we have both!
- the Curlew / Mézos stream– AAPPMA d’Onesse – from the downstream of Pisciculture de St Julien en Born (the Courlis downstream of the Courlis reserve + Mézos stream downstream from the threshold of the fish farm) to the footbridge located downstream of the confluence of the stream from Mézos and the Moulin stream – 4 km linear
- Onesse stream / Courlis – AAPPMA d’Onesse – from downstream of the Onesse reserve (Pont de l’héritier) to upstream of the Courlis Canal reserve (Mézos fish farm) – 8 km of linear
