Who are we ?
An innovative federation
The Departmental Federation of Landes for Fishing and the Protection of the Aquatic Environment is a association recognized as being of public utility and governed by the environmental code . We are in charge, within the framework of the general interest, of the management of fishing and the protection of the aquatic environment.
Head of the network, the Federation also leads and coordinates the actions of 27 approved associations and ADAPAEF that the Landes department has.
The federation employs employees who bring their skills to the federal office and lead actions in favor of the aquatic environment and fishermen. The salary team applies the policy defined by the board of directors .
We are one team committed to serving 23,200 members and some 35,000 fishermen attending the department
our missions
Framed in the statutes, the missions of the federation revolve around 3 main objectives:
- the development and management of leisure fishing,
- protection and management of aquatic environments,
- the fishing police and the surveillance of aquatic environments.
This vast program is now ensured and framed by the establishment of management and action documents that are the PDPG or Departmental Plan for the Protection of the Aquatic Environment and the Management of Fish Resources and the PDPL or Plan for the Development and Promotion of Leisure Fishing.
From hundreds of actions are thus carried out each year by the federation and local associations to meet these statutory objectives

To carry out all of these missions, the Landes Fishing Federation relies on a team of 9 people . From various backgrounds, the profiles are complementary between technicians, animators, guard, administrative and present a real commitment to recreational fishing and fish populations .

By taking out a fishing license, you join an Approved Association for Fishing and Protection of the Aquatic Environment (AAPPMA).
The Landes department has :
- 27 fishing associations, all reciprocal between them. They implement actions in their areas of influence adapted to their territories and to the aquatic environments they manage. They constitute the local and proximity link of the approved structures for recreational fishing.
- 1 Approved Departmental Association of Amateur Fishing Gear and Nets (ADAPEF), attached to the federation, which manages the exercise of fishing gear and nets on waters in the public domain.
In total, there are more than 400 volunteers active workers who work locally and daily for recreational fishing and fish farming populations

Become a player in sustainable and responsible fishing
Why ?
To contribute to the management of aquatic environments and the development of fishing activity.
Volunteering is at the heart of the local action of fishing associations and you can, for example, provide your help with stocking, activities for young people, daycare, maintenance of fishing courses or even the day-to-day management of the association. The possibilities are not lacking and any participation will be welcome.

With your fishing license, you are already a member and insured for this mobilization. All you need to do is contact the associations directly to introduce yourself. You can also contact the federation for more information.
